Water Extraction

East Bay Carpet Cleaning is pleased to announce purchase of the latest technology in water extraction and we are also utilizing new drying methods to fully dry the areas that have been flooded. Extraction first occurs with our Hydro-X Xtreme Xtractor, This machine extracts most of the water from not only the carpet, but also the carpet padding. With this process, there's no need to replace either the carpet or the carpet padding. After the extraction we install a series of air movers and a de-humidifier in the area to assist in the drying process. This equipment is placed in a certain fashion known as Vortex Drying. In this method, air movers are placed facing walls in a circular area around the room, creating a sort of vortex effect on the room. Coupled with a de -humidifier this method is extremely effective in drying the room. This method will require two visits; the first to extract water (twice as faster then current method!) and set-up drying equipment. The second to clean and deodorize/decontaminate affected areas. Regular hourly rates apply for first visit and our minimum fee will be charged for the second visit. This service is only provided for established accounts.

Preventive Maintenance

To minimize the debris that is tracked in from outside and protect carpet from moisture and dirt that is already inside with the use of mats - outside and inside.

Outside mats scrape debris off shoes before being tracked in. Use soil-removal mats that have a course texture, able to brush soil from shoes, and hold large amounts of soil in their pile.

Inside mats remove smaller particles of dirt as well as oils and other liquids that can be tracked in from outside. Use water absorbent mats to prevent tracked-in moisture from getting to the carpet. Mats that extend 6 to 15 feet inside the entrance will trap 80 percent of soil and moisture from the first five or six steps. Another way to prevent soiling using mats is by placing protective mats around food stations, water coolers, elevators and stair thresholds to prevent moisture from becoming ground into the carpet.

For mats to continue to trap soil, they should be cleaned on a regular basis, more frequently than carpet. If accumulated soil is not removed, the mat will become overloaded and cannot prevent soil from entering the building.

In addition, keeping parking lots, sidewalks, and entrances clean will cut down on the tracking in of debris.

Routine vacuuming is a must for good commercial carpet performance. It is very important to identify the high, medium and low traffic areas and adjust your vacuuming schedule accordingly .

How does our Oscillating Pad system work?

We begin by thoroughly vacuuming the carpet with a commercial vacuum. Once the carpet is vacuumed, we place a heavy-duty cotton terry towel on the carpet with our oscillating floor machine placed on top of the towel. These thick, absorbent towels are made from conventional cotton and are unbleached! Chlorine bleaching creates dioxin, a known carcinogen. Reducing the amount of chemicals used in the manufacturing process is better for you and the environment. Then the carpet is pre-sprayed with our cleaning solution. Our pre-spray is very effective on traffic lanes, greasy restaurants, oily facilities, trashed out apartment, stale odors from lack of cleaning, organic stains, protein stains, oil-based stains and anything else you throw at it, yet has natural ingredients. This special cleaning solution releases the soil, grease, and other dirt particles from the carpet. The towels then pick up these particles, removing them from the carpet. The oscillation motion of the machine, combined with the cleaning solution, allows not only the surface carpet fibers to be cleaned but cleaning occurs deep into the pile as well. We use as many towels as are needed to ensure a thorough deep cleaning of your carpet. In approximately one hour, your carpet is ready to use. The towels are then washed in a high efficiency washer and reused for the next job.

Environmentally Sound Method

East Bay Carpet Cleaning uses only a tiny fraction of the water of wet methods, preserving our natural resources. With wet methods, gallons and gallons of wastewater are usually dumped down the sewer drain. With our method, the pads are washed in a high efficiency washer and reused for the next job. Our cleaning solution has Organic, Oil, Dirt and Enzymatic ingredients

The Problem with Steam Cleaning

Spots often reappear in the same place after cleaning because the unwanted material is forced down below the surface of the carpet by a high pressure steam cleaning unit - only to "wick" back up as the carpet dries. Because we apply our solutions so sparingly, without high pressure, wicking is not a problem.

If the carpet stays wet for a long period of time — usually more than 24 hours —mold and mildew can develop, creating a health hazard. And, if the carpet is still moist and has foot traffic on it before it is dry, it gets dirty and wears at a much faster rate both of which can seriously shorten the carpet’s lifespan. To avoid the problems associated with excessive remaining moisture with the hot-water extraction call East Bay Carpet Cleaning.

Saving you $$$$$$

Carpeting is a major investment. Many property managers install new carpeting, not because their current carpet is worn or torn, but because of its soiled appearance. East Bay Carpet Cleaning can significantly increase the lifespan of carpets, providing a much better return on the carpet investment. In fact, keeping carpets clean can extend replacement intervals significantly. East Bay Carpet Cleaning can prevent you from being pennywise and pound-foolish when it comes to carpet upkeep.

Our Very Low Moisture Cleaning system is the answer

Our system removes the soil, grease, dirt, spots, spills, grime and stains. They are dissolved then quickly removed by our state of the art equipment. We do not shampoo so the carpets stay clean much longer. We do not use steam, so the soil is not pushed deeper into the carpets but instead is removed; also the carpets are dry to the touch in as little as 1 hour.
